If you are ever in Camarillo and you feel like having a GREAT Breakfast or Lunch in a Modern Eclectic Restaurant, visit Zzyzx Cafe. Nestled right across the street from the Metrolink train Station, it is in the heart of Old Town Camarillo, where imaginative flair and style are served with every meal.

I'm sure you have heard the name Zzyzx, as you are driving into Las Vegas from the 805, just as you pass Baker is Zzyzx Road. It is a 4.5 mile long dirt road in the Mojave Desert on Interstate 15.

Tom and I started our travel day quite hungry, so we ventured into this restaurant. It has a funky location, parking is funky but so is the restaurant. We decided to have lunch but they serve breakfast or you can call it brunch till 2. As you know Tom is on this kick to loose 10 lbs (he blames it on our traveling) so he ordered a salad, a traditional cobb salad with the chicken, eggs, really fresh veggies, and of course Blue Cheese. I don't know what it is about him lately but he is definitely having an affair with blue cheese and gorgonzola.

I on the other hand, being quite adventurous, tried the special of a fish wrap with cabbage, carrots, and other veggies with this really yummy peanut dipping sauce.
It was really good and filling.

Zzyzx Cafe serves 6 different kinds of eggs benedicts, breakfast pizzas, and French toast (my favorite is the Captain Crunch French Toast) as well as your usual breakfast items. For lunch try the Pinot Noir burger with Pinot and balsamic onions. To die for! They have sandwiches (I like the veggie sandwich), salads, and more.
